[livejournal.com profile] asylumiss asked for the No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars recipe. I'm not sure if anyone else wants it, but I'm going to post it here just in case. I got this recipe from The Cookie Bible, which you should find at Borders for only $5-6. I haven't tried this recipe yet, but it looks promising!

No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
2 cups peanut butter, divided
3/4 cups (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar, divided
3 cups graham crackers crumbs
2 cups (12-ounce package) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Morsels, divided

GREASE 13x9-inch baking pan.

BEAT 1 1/4 cups peanut butter and butter in large mixer bowl until creamy. Gradually beat in 1 cup powdered sugar. With hands or wooden spoon, work in remaining powdered sugar, graham cracker crumbs and 1/2 cup morsels. Press evenly into prepared pan. Smooth top with spatula.

MELT remaining peanut butter and remaining morsels in medium, heavy-duty saucepan over lowest possible heat, stirring constantly, until smooth. Spread over graham cracker crust in pan. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until chocolate is firm; cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.

Makes 5 dozen bars

IDK why there's a lot of italics in the book, and I almost didn't add them here, but the emphasis seems to be an important note for the recipe to work.

I did some baking today. I made Mini Chip Snowball Cookies for my little sister's class tomorrow; I just left out the nuts. Her teacher decided to give them some dumb assignment where everyone needed to bake homemade cookies for thirty kids and bring them to class - never mind that this is a Catholic school with expensive tuition and not everybody can afford to make cookies for an entire class. Alas, I made five dozen cookies, and thirty-five of them are for the school and that leaves thirteen for us. */headdesk.* But the cookies were a success, so I can't complain.

By the way, I'm reading the Full Metal Alchemist manga to catch up. Right now I'm on chapter 57, so I'm halfway there!

Yesterday was a calm day. I baked cookies. One batch of soft & sweet chocolate chips, one batch of peanut butter. I thought the peanut butter cookies were going to be ruined. I screwed up the first recipe and had to salvage it by trying to find another one. D: The peanut butter cookies came out delicious, though. I have to find a way to enrich the taste of the peanut butter, though; it was a little too weak for my taste.

I need to find a new profile code. The one I've got now is bothering me.

Also also also watching the season finale of Food Network Star OMG I AM SO NERVOUS, HOLD ME. (This is basically the only reality show I care about.)

Hmmm ... I'm going to try and bake some cookies tomorrow. I'm in the mood for homemade cookies, and I still have white chocolate chips lying around the house. I picked up some butterscotch morsels at the store today, so I'll think of what to do with those tomorrow.

I feel really sick today. I spent the entire night constantly using the bathroom. I'm really exhausted, my scalp is itchy and it hurts, and I just feel ... like I'm having hot flashes, going from feeling hot and sweating to feeling like I'm freezing. Maybe I just need some sleep. :/

I'm baking tonight - the blondies. Mostly so I can go to people's houses and force 'em down their throats, and so I can have a good midnight snack to munch on. This is my Wednesday evening, and I'm okay with that.

Yesterday was hell on earth for me. I didn't get any sleep on Monday/early morning Tuesday, so I felt like a zombie during my classes. I fell asleep at 4 o'clock in the afternoon yesterday, and woke up ... uhhhhh, two o'clock in the morning, ten hours later. I, uh, guess I needed the sleep.

Closing notes: this is the strangest version of the Bleeding Love song I've heard so far.

Blondies = success?!

Edit: Yep, they were a success. They are delicious!
