Leon from Kingdom Hearts!

1. He was Squall to me first, so even though I've never played through FFVIII fully when it was released, I have a nostalgic soft spot for him that automatically makes me like him in Kingdom Hearts.

2. It's great to see him...still Squall, but he's obviously not as withdrawn as Squall is at the beginning of his canon. I don't know if it's because he grows in FFVIII or if it was the fact that his world disappeared, but he's aware that his friends are important to him, even if he's still not the most outgoing guy ever. And he's willing to admit his mistakes more openly.

I almost always call him Squall in Kingdom Hearts, even though I mentally know his new name is Leon and he hates being called Squall. Childhood's to blame here. XD

I just love how Aerith and Yuffie explain how he LOVES THOSE PUPPIES SO MUCH while he's (failing at) quietly his anxiety over them. It's adorable.

1. I didn't really love the first two episodes, because the two teams seemed a little dull at first, and the fanservice was completely ridiculous. (I mean, I can look back on those episodes now and argue that it was meant to be satire, but at the time I didn't know what to expect.) I was going to give up on it until I watched episode three and was introduced to the crazy that is Death the Kid. I love how I can't look at the word 'symmetry' without thinking about Kid. XD

2. The music! It's great. But I kind of adore the soft scores more than the ones playing through battles, although those are great, too. Like, Camellia (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qyp_c9tBvV0) is my favorite, even though it's arguably the most depressing track in the entire series since, y'know, it was played during two deaths.
