(1) Wow, they really butchered the hell out of Dragon Ball Z with DBZ Kai. I never saw the Japanese version, so I hope it's just something the English dub did--I caught two episodes on the Nicktoons channel--but yeah, it really tore the original scenes apart. I get that they were shortening the episodes, which is a great feat, but I feel like it takes something away from the characters. There's no time to emotionally connect with any of them. (Like, in one episode, Piccolo gives Gohan his sword and new outfit and says he'll come back in six months, and then a few seconds later, he's all, "OKAY, GOHAN, NOW THAT YOU'VE SURVIVED, I WILL TRAIN YOU NOW," and I'm like, "...When the fuck did six months go by? How did Gohan go from wearing an outfit like his father's and training with you to wearing an outfit like yours one minute later? WHERE IS THE BUILD-UP? EXPLAIN, SERIES.") I thought they were going to leave those scenes alone and shorten the battles, but I was wrong, apparently. They edited everything.

(2) Tumblr's kind of been turning me off lately. I like having something convenient to post random things, but a lot of 'fuckyeah' blogs have succumbed to inevitable drama amongst their followers by refusing to keep their personal opinions out of their posts and making their formspring accounts available for their followers to annoy them/start shit with them. (Like, yesterday, one account had drama about stolen screenshots and copyrights. Now I'm seeing anti!Disney in another place. I just want you to give me images/videos and other things about this specific fandom, damn it, not this crap. D:

(3) Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep is coming out in September this year! Hooraay. Can't wait to play it.

Well, the DBZ nicktoons verison seems to already be going as bad as the earlier heavy edited version when it stared on Toonami. That was edited to death. Of course at that time, everyone was praising it as the greatest show on Toonami.

I wouldn't know how edited the Toonami version was, because I never sat down and watched the Japanese version at all. (I imagine it's as bad as the Sailor Moon dub, where everything was dumbed down for the kids.) But at least with the DBZ that aired on Toonami, there was a sense of development. DBZ Kai on Nicktoons just...doesn't. It's horrible. It's damn near impossible to get into the series because they rush everything, and they take out all of the scenes that made the show interesting.

From what I've seen in the marathon, Goku starts his run on the snake way in one episode, and then he gets to his goal in the very next episode. He doesn't stop anywhere, he doesn't fall off...nothing. There's no build-up whatsoever. And I haven't seen the little training scenes in the episodes either, but I stopped paying attention to the series around that point. :/

The episodes with Gohan and Piccolo were...very telling. Gohan transforms upon a full moon, and then within seconds, Piccolo figures out it's the moon fault. NO CHASE SCENE. And then it doesn't show what Gohan was doing during the six months Piccolo left him on his own.
