samatethecookieI've been exhausted lately... to the point where I don't want to go out and do anything.
Anywho, "My Sister's Keeper" is slowly beginning to annoy me even more. The book just reached a whole new level of melodramatic. Just when I thought it couldn't fall into any more cliches, I finished reading Jesse, the older brother, in his first chapter, and ... honestly, who does Picoult think she's kidding with this character? She's trying to make this guy out to be some badass who likes to start fires. He's a whiny little pussy, is what he is. :/ Everything he does, is because he thinks he's a "lost cause" and goes out of his way to prove it to be true rather than prove otherwise. And his annnnnngst. Let me show you it.
In other words,
Not to mention I just reached 124 pages, after reading about Julia in high school or college or whatever. Oh man, it's so much worse than I expected. How dare she wear military boots and dye her hair pink! How scandalous! (Also, ugh, stuck-up boy/misunderstood chick relationship needs to gtfo right now.)
So, yeah, so far I'm not getting why Picoult's books are popular. Not sure if her other books are better; this isn't impressing me so far. At least Picoult's a better writer than Stephenie Meyer, though.

Anna is the only proof I have that I was born into this family instead of dropped off on the doorstep by some Bonnie and Clyde couple that ran off into the night.
It would solve a thousand problems if I rolled the Jeep over an embankment. It's not like I haven't thought about it, you know. On the license, it says I'm an organ donor, but the truth is I'd consider being an organ martyr. I'm sure I'm worth a lot more dead than alive - the sum of the parts equal more than the whole. I wonder who might wind up walking around with my liver, my lungs, even my eyeballs. I wonder what poor asshole would get stuck with whatever it is in me that passes for a heart.
I look for places like me: big, hollow, forgotten by most everyone.
