Mary Ann's a bitch.
Sep. 15th, 2009 04:07 amI realized I haven't made a post about real life and general things in a few days, outside of those twitter posts. Oh, and I should work on putting LJ cuts on those. I'll get around to that tomorrow or Wednesday. For now, have some bullet points with notes and random thoughts.
• Dear 2009: Stop with the celebrity deaths, please. Thanks.
• It's a good thing we don't have any booze around here and I have little to no interest in it. If I made up a drinking game about Kanye West and any LJ/twitter post that mentions him, it wouldn't end well.
• I noticed that I hadn't been paying attention to any television shows. I think I got utterly disappointed with Heroes so badly that I dropped TV altogether. Most of the time my TV is off and I'm either reading or playing around on the computer/PSP. So uh. What's everyone watching lately?
• I've been writing! Considering I've been suffering from a writer's block for a long time, I feel good. I'm still not happy with the finished products, but it's better than nothing.
I've got a problem, though. I have an RP line to writeI've been putting it off since June, I have to write it, and this OC's voice isn't active, at all, which ... making me panic a lot, because he's ... literally not clicking in my head, no matter what I try and do with him. I've had this character since I was fifteen or sixteen years old, and I don't want his muse to go comatose on me. :( Can any writer on the flist lead me to writing exercises I can work through to poke him back to life? Anything will help a lot. ♥
• Also, I am in dire need of Beast Boy/Lightning icons. Dammit,
cheriestar. I am looking at you. (LJ totally needs to give us more icon space. 100 icons, plus one royalty icon for every subscription renewal, is not enough.)

Date: 2009-09-15 09:21 am (UTC)IKR?! It's so sad.
I watch True Blood (although the season just ended), Gossip Girl, Merlin, Big Bang Theory, Dollhouse.... I'm not really sure if you'll like them. Everyone has been talking about Glee, but because I never keep up with TV schedules here I have no idea if it's playing or if I should even see if I like the pilot. But I haven't liked anything musical except Phantom of the Opera, so I'm not sure.

Date: 2009-09-15 09:41 am (UTC)True Blood, Merlin, and the Big Bang Theory caught my interest here and there. I've heard nothing but great things!
Glee... I'm not sure. I love musicals, but I keep picking up on the vibe that Glee is really overhyped. That, and just from first impressions, the characters don't sound that likable to me. The music's great, though. I'll probably just keep an ear out for that, at least. XD;

Date: 2009-09-15 09:53 am (UTC)It's worth the try! I'm probably DEAD WRONG about it. It's happened before. XD;

Date: 2009-09-15 10:07 am (UTC)Yeah, I prefer being a lurker, because fandoms take things way too seriously. I enjoy looking in the fandom every now and then for some good fanart and fanfiction, and the occasional discussion with awesome friends, but that's about it. Lurkers can enjoy fandom WITHOUT getting involved with the unnecessary drama!
(... And I just realized I need to reply to other people in my LJ. GAH. Tomorrow! */goes to bed now.*)

Finally, MWAA HAA HAA to the Beast Boy/Lightning thing.

Date: 2009-09-15 09:08 pm (UTC)Oooh. That helps, thank you so much. <3 */saves the link.*
Beast Boy/Lightning is your fault, but that's okay. Most crack ships I end up enjoying was somebody else's fault at some point.

Date: 2009-09-15 05:00 pm (UTC)BTW, my brother is poking me about starting Same City, Diff Day. XD I told him I'm not a moderator type person for it but that I would gently prod you about it. So there is your gentle prodding.

Date: 2009-09-15 09:05 pm (UTC)Hahah. XD; Thank you for the prodding. I didn't FORGET about it, but yeah, I got swept up with other things. idk if I can be called a moderator, though ... but yeah, I think we all need to sit down and talk about it, to see if anyone's changed their mind and what's going to be done with the characters.

Date: 2009-09-15 10:58 pm (UTC)A lot of people on my flist are freaking out over Glee. It's really not my cup of tea, but it looks to be good maybe? Haha.
Also, I totally agree with the icon dilemma. Need more space dammit. D:

Date: 2009-09-16 04:15 am (UTC)Man, I'm over the vampire fad. I didn't mind vampires before, but I'm a little sick of them now. True Blood sounds good, though. I heard good things from somebody else a few months ago, so I'll probably check it out sooner or later. XD
I've seen one or two on my flist talk about it and said nothing but good things, but even the first impressions don't strike a cord with me. Mostly because I feel like I've heard the story before. I'm probably wrong, though. It doesn't look bad, either.
Yeah, really. 100 spaces is nice, but there's SO MANY GOOD ICONS. I'm so tempted to buy a permanent account once the sale goes back up, just to be over and done with it and have my 150 icon space and be happy with it. But then I'll complain that it's STILL not enough. >_>;

Date: 2009-09-16 01:42 pm (UTC)And now it's vampires in everything and I still JUST DON'T CARE.
I'm cool with the vampires in True Blood, but they definitely aren't my favorite part of the show (which I know is weird of me, but whatever). I'm totally in love with all the secondary human characters.
Yeah, I'm the same with Glee as well. I'm just not interested.
Ugh, a permanent account would be SWEET, but I'm still afraid that LJ is going to just up and die one day and then what?
I wish they had a way to buy extra extra icon space. :(

Date: 2009-09-17 04:52 am (UTC)XD I understand that. What will really hook me into a show is if I care about the secondary/minor characters. And sometimes I'll like a minor character before one of the main characters. It depends.
Yeah, that ... is what bothers me the most, too. Sure, in the long-run it'd save me a lot of money than spending over twenty dollars on my journal every year, but I'm still cautious about the run of this website. And all the other blog websites that do offer extra extra icon space (such as Inksome, which gives you 120+ icon space, I forget the exact number) aren't ... really active at all and you know they won't last long. It sucks. :\
