Here, let me sum up Glee for you based on what I've gathered from viewers:

It's basically a show about all the things everybody hated about high school.

Yeah, uh. No thanks. There are better things to watch.

(Also, while most of the music's been pretty good, this mash-up of Bon Jovi's It's My Life and Usher's Confessions is LOLariously horrible. Who the hell came up with this?)

I haven't watched it (and don't plan to, based on what I've heard) so unfortunately I can't answer that! D: My only guess is that the music keeps pulling in the viewers. I've heard nothing but bad things personally.

My theory is that it is popular because it is different from the rest of the TV on networks. We are so attuned to how formulaic everything else is, that when something that is so wildly different from what we are accustomed to comes along we either praise it out of high hell or hate it, and Glee is accessible enough to win the high praise as opposed to immediate cancellation.

I've watched the first 5 eps, and I love Glee. This may be because I never went to high school in America, but the music fits into the storyline, the characters are fun, and it actually makes me laugh. I've only heard good things about this show - I don't know anyone who's actually watched it and hated it.

It's the opposite with me. I've only heard nothing but bad things from people who enjoyed the first two episodes but they're gradually becoming more disappointed with the show. Plot-wise, it doesn't bother me, but everything I've heard about the characters so far doesn't jump out at me.

I'd try it out myself, but I have a feeling I'd get bored with it. Most high school based plots do; I'm just very picky with things that take place in high school. XD; Which is fine, I just drop in to grab the music personally.

Oh I see. I haven't seen the lastest episodes since it hasn't aired here yet and I'm too lazy to download them, so I don't know if it's gotten worse. I just think the show itself it very well done - I'm not usually too picky and it's really nice and light hearted. And I don't have anything incredibly horrible to report about my high school experience so I'm not realy against high school plots haha. Besides, school here is really nothing like that at all.

I would try and watch it for a light-hearted factor, but I'm just really picky with TV series nowadays. I barely watch TV anymore. (Unless it's the Food Network. Because, y'know, food.)
