So I finally looked at that list of 1001 Books, and I listed the books I've read from it.

"Atonement" by Ian McEwan
"Memoirs of a Geisha" by Arthur Golden
"Like Water for Chocolate" by Laura Esquivel
"Watchmen" by Alan Moore & Gibbons
"Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit" by Jeanette Winterson
"The Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger
"To Kill A Mockingbird" by Harper Lee
"The Bluest Eye" by Toni Morrison

Unfortunately, in my high school, I've never had a class where we actually read classical literature, or at least books that weren't shitty YA books. Nobody wanted to read anything that was "too hard" to understand. Like, the honor students had to read classical literature books, while we got stuck with ... special works such as The Lovely Bones. (And there is NOTHING GOOD about that book, you will never be able to convince me it has redeeming qualities. :\)

Edit: Oops! Forgot one: "The Reader" by Bernhard Schlink, and I'm currently reading "Invisible Man" by Ralph Ellison for class.

Hmm, I started to read "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" by Ken Kesey a few years ago, but I never finished it. It's from the point of view of the man believed to be mute in the movie, right?

I don't quite remember who's point of the view the book was from.

I can tell you that "The Curious Incident of the dog in the night -time" is a good book, but kind of depressing.

I've heard mixed views about that book, but I'll give it a try! I have to get through this entire pile of books that I've yet to read. D: (And a lot of the books that are on my "to-read" list are on this list, so hooray!)

I'm surprised Jeanette Winterson ended up on this list more than once. I started reading her book "Written on the Body" (while I'm also reading "Dead Until Dark" that the True Blood series is based on, because I like to switch back and fourth), and so far I think she's justifying ending up on the list. I just started, but it's a good book so far.
