I was thinking about buying Sailor Moon DVDs until I realized (1) most of the DVDs out there are either too expensive or bootleg, and (2) Funimation put out a survey in 2009 asking their fans which project they should work on next, and a possible re-dub of Sailor Moon was included on the list.

Now, I don't think this is impossible. Already an international revival is underway. A new, remastered Sailor Moon series just premiered on Italy television this March! If Funimation is showing an interest, then it could be possible that the English license can be renewed, which really needs to happen because it's been, what, five years? If it is possible to renew at this point? Books! DVDs! Movies! Music! They're going to be available to the western fanbase. That'd be awesome.

So, I'm hoping and praying that this happens sooner or later. If they can put Dragon Ball Z Kai on Nicktoons and call it a new series, then I'll fucking buy it for Sailor Moon so long as I get my proper English dub and DVDs.

(Also, if the guy who sounds like Edward Elric in every single role he picks up has to be in this series? He should be Jadeite. Then he'd be the first one to die! OMG YES THIS HAS TO HAPPEN NOW.)

Edit: Totally not related to this whatsoever, but apparently you can buy a package on LJ that gives you 210 icons? so expensive but OMG DO WANT.

I'M SERIOUS. Granted, it costs $30 for twelve months, but STILL, 210 icons!! Or or they add 210 icons to the icons you do have when yo buy a paid account. IDEK, but it's still a shitload of icons. (Although I agree, I do think they should just make permanent accounts available for sale so we can get it over with.)

I'd be really ecstatic if the fans get a new Sailor Moon Dub. <3 I would just die. (Although I'm kind of hopeful that they get someone that sounded like "Serena," because in my head she is Sailor Moon because he was first for me.)

I am such an icon slave. BUT THEY ARE SO SHINY AND LITTLE BOXES THAT EXPRESS MY EVERY FEELING AND THOUGHT.

They need to hold off on the Perm account sales until at least like... Mid-July (I think they usually do 'em in November actually) because ME SO POOR.

I would not be super picky about Sailor Moon VAs because it has been so long, but yeah I can see wanting "Serena" to sound the same. Do you think they'll go with the English names or keep Usagi and all that?

I'd buy a permanent account, and only buy a paid account plus these shiny new icons for a few months until then, but I'm a little paranoid that I'd spend all this money on an online account. What if something happens that leads me to leaving LJ? Or LJ fails? Or or other things I'm anxious and paranoid about?

Yeah, I'm sort of the same way. I just want an English dub to come out because it's been too long. On the other hand? Previous voice actress, please come back! /hopeless begging is hopeless.

Oh, I definitely think they're going to keep their original names. Like, "Serena" and "Darien" are endearing to me, I'll admit that, but Funimation has a good track record for keeping characters' names intact. Not only would the older, hardcore fans appreciate it, but there's a lot of anime fans who don't even know what Sailor Moon was. (Which is shocking to me, because WHAT ANIME FAN KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT SAILOR MOON, but it sounds like a good opportunity to attract a brand new younger audience like they're trying to do with Dragon Ball Z Kai, I guess?)
