"Atonement" by Ian McEwan was turned into a movie. Whatever your opinion is on the book, it's one of the best examples of Movie Adaptations done right. Some things were added/removed/changed, but that's a given with any book that was turned into a movie, and fortunately the changes weren't so drastic. So, it pretty much lived up to my high expectations. (I didn't even mind Keira Knightly cast as Cecilia, because she looked exactly how Cecilia was described in the book.)

"Time Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger's movie adaptation was okay. I sort of hated how all of Claire's important scenes/crucial information about her backstory were completely removed or changed. Claire's anxiety over her mother's depression/suicidal tendencies and how she was going to die? The movie's version had her upset about a possible divorce - and her rocky relationship with her mother wasn't even mentioned. Claire's relationship with Gomez? Don't even expect it, unless you're looking for the subtle hints. (And yet, Henry's weird friendship with Gomez was left in.) Oh, and how she and Henry meet as an old lady? They meet again a year after his death, and he tells her to move on with her life. Just...no, movie. The movie's titled after the wife. It's about Henry, too, but give some credit where it's due, please! (Also, both versions of their daughter were randomly blond instead of having dark hair like Henry in the book, because they use those creepy child actresses in every movie with kids lately.)

Real life is okay. Mouth still hurts. Scruffy's home from the vet and he's recovering. He didn't have any cancer. Actually, his testicles were inside of him rather than out, which we've always known about but we never thought it was a danger to him because he was fine for eight years. Well, those have been removed completely.

I love Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana, but I wasn't crazy about the adaption of The Time Traveler's Wife, either. And the role of Alba was so miscast it was almost laughable.

I never even finished the movie version of Atonement, I thought it was pretty dull.

Yeah, I don't know what they were thinking when they cast those blond sisters as Alba. I saw what they were doing, because they look identical, but I'm confused as to how black and red = VERY BLOND HAIR. I know it happens! It just goes against book canon, that's all. That and there are young child actors who aren't blond.

Eric Bana...I don't know. He's okay, but he's not what I imagined Henry to look like at all. Rachel McAdams was perfect for Claire, though.

IDK, I didn't think it was dull. I liked the movie version for "Atonement" well enough. I thought it captured the book very well, considering a lot of other movie adaptations for books really missed the mark.
