re: Final Fantasy XII

samatethecookieI started playing Final Fantasy XII yesterday. Instead of finishing Final Fantasy VIII or X, I'm playing this one. S-Somebeody stop me.
(1) I know a lot of people have complained about this game for different reasons, but I think I'm going to enjoy it? It has a lot of things I love. Politics! Sky pirates! Traitors! A princess who kicks ass and bring a resistance! It seems like it's going to be a lot of fun.
(2) I do have some complaints about the battle system, but I think it's because I just came out of Final Fantasy XIII, and I loved their battle system and how each of the characters level up. It's hard to go back to other games and try it a different way. /lazy.
(3) So...Reks was still alive after he was stabbed by Basch, and he was basically catatonic/immobile afterwards? And Vaan had to take care of him? Poor Reks. :(
(4) Whoever the Judge is, he's sorta awesome, or at least the way he told off the Bounty Hunter was awesome. I know he's the brother of someone in the main cast--I played Dissidia, and you encounter him in a side quest and have to battle him, and he was ridiculously easy to beat the crap out of but he was pretty cool to listen to--but I keep forgetting which one. Is it Basch or Balthier? (Don't answer this question if it's a spoiler.)
(5) lol, there's something going on between Balthier and Fran, isn't there? Or there isn't but I'm going to end up shipping them anyway.
(6) Oh my God, the music in this game is complete fail. I just don't like it. A lot of it is very repetitive and all of the songs sound the same. I do love the introduction, though, when you're brought to the main menu, but that's because they used a song from Final Fantasy VI which will never NOT BE GREAT.
