samatethecookie1. Well, onemanga.com is closing down. Which is fine with me, because I rarely ever read manga series anymore and when I do, it's because I've purchased the books from Borders. Still, it's a little sad to see it go since it was a great source for manga series that hadn't been licensed in America yet. Now I haven no idea how I'm going to read series like NANA if the artist ever picked it up again.

gemkazoni, I watched A Girl Who Leapt Through Time. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do, but it really was a good film! (I may or may not have tear bended twice.) So um. If anyone hasn't seen it yet, you should really check it out!
3. Avatar: The Legend of Korra! I'm so excited; I'm glad that the critical mess that is the godawful The Last Airbender doesn't seem to be effecting the progress of this show. And the new Avatar is a lady! (My younger sister was surprisingly excited about that. The first thing she wanted to know is if the new Avatar was going to be a girl. SO PROUD OF HER.)
Although I heard that the fandom is already being incredibly immature about the fact that Aang's son is going to appear in the series, and the strong possibility that he's also the son of Katara? To be honest, I'm so over the canon vs. fanon battle that I really don't care about either ships anymore. Both of them aren't worth the effort, in my opinion; I care but I don't care that much. I just want to put that aside, move onto the new show and welcome it as it is.
4. I'll work on meme prompts either tonight or tomorrow. I'm just so ... blah lately. I haven't been able to crawl out of my insomniac habits yet. :\ Real life is incredibly dull, too.

Date: 2010-07-23 04:03 am (UTC)Oh man, SO excited for Legend of Korra. IT'S GOING TO BE SO FABULOUS. :D And yeeeeeeah, I lurked in Avatar fandom for a few hours today out of sheer curiosity and it was seriously making me sick, how crazy some people are. I REFUSE TO EVER GO BACK.

Actually, there was an interview released either late last night or early today with Mike & Bryan, where they confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt that Katara is the mother, which might be where a lot of the crazy is coming from (because HOW DARE THEY DECIDE THAT ABOUT THEIR OWN CREATION AND ~*~*~*~DISRESPECT THE FANS~*~*~*~ BLAH BLAH BLAH).
So yeah. Fandom sucks. But more Avatar! <333333

It's better to just avoid it; better state of mind and it's probably for the best to watch the show without the fandom ruining it. I'm tired of how the fandom thinks the creators owe something to them, which...they don't. They really, really don't, and I don't understand that mindset at all. They ended it the way they wanted to end it; there's nothing wrong with that. I get what it's like to be disappointed not to have your fanon become canon, but there's really no need to start wank over it. :\
Oooh, so Katara is the mother? That's going to be kind of cool! I wonder if he and Korra knew each other from a water tribe if he's going to be teaching her airbending? I WANT TO KNOW MOOOOORE.
