The problem with LiveJournal is that we think we're close, but really, we know nothing about each other.

So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me, something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about, or something you've always been curious about but have never asked, or something completely silly that you'd like me to answer for kicks. No limits on the range of questions, either: ask me anything you want to know about, whether it's a fannish opinion or a question about a fic of mine or trivia about my real life or my thoughts on events in the offline world.

Because I'm bored, I still haven't gotten around to 30 day meme prompts, and I saw this popping up everywhere.

What's the book you'd read over and over again?

There's two. "Written On The Body" by Jeanette Winterson, which is such a beautifully written book, and it has some of my favorite literary quotes from there. And "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," because when I was fresh out of high school, I could relate a lot to the main character, and I read the book when I wasn't having an easy time. I can't imagine not having those books on my shelf for the rest of my life.

I'm trying to think of the silliest phobia I have, because I'm afraid of lots of things and they're always silly. (Hahah, hi, I'm Sam and I'm a hypochondriac.)

Above everything else? Bees. D: D: D: I hate those fuckers. And I used to be unable to hear anything about the end of the world. One time, when we were unexpectedly discussing it in a biology class, I had to rush to the bathroom and calm myself down from a panic attack. Oh, and I could never watch disaster movies; I still can't. Now it doesn't bother me as much as it used to, but it's still a silly phobia.

What's your favourite colour and what were your least favourite subjects in school ever?

ahahaha I still love that icon <3

I like all sorts of colors, but right now my favorite colors of all time are blue and green. I'm not sure why and how I came to love green so much, but I do now.

And my least favorite subjects in school? Definitely math. Anything related to math. Math is an entirely different language to me. And some science classes. I like learning about new things in science, but my mind can't absorb all of the information, unless it's related to space because I love space.

Here, have another silly one XD

Ugh, agreed on the math. I think part of the problem is that after a certain point, teachers stop bothering to help students understand what's being asked, and why exactly you have to things this one specific way to get the right answer.

The only thing I do like about math is that there's nothing subjective about it. It's right or it's wrong, and there's less room to have marks docked because of a teacher's annoying nitpicky preferences or because of the teacher's bias (such as with an essay topic, or based on their assumptions about a student).

I HAVE to respond to that icon with this one!

Oh, I've had plenty of teachers give up on me/the entire class before. My geometry teacher used to outright refuse to answer our questions because "it was in our notes", which...they weren't. I failed her class that semester and had to attend summer school, but she didn't last. By senior year, she was long gone.

I agree, that's the good side of math. Whenever I do understand a question in math, it's so rewarding because there's no ifs or buts about it. It's simple compared to what anyone expects in English and other classes that focus on liberal arts.

That is a fantastic icon. XD

I think for people who have a thorough understanding of math, they find it hard to understand when others don't get it sometimes. The answer's obvious to them, so they seem to think that with a brief explanation it should be obvious to everyone else too, and it's not.

Hmm. What's your favorite type of food?

Hmmm. I'm a picky eater so my tastes in food is extremely narrow. Like, now I'm starting to try everything and I even like a lot of it, but I usually stick with my favorites all the time, and I almost never get sick of them. I love pasta and anything with noodles in it; Italian food is my favorite type of food because there's almost always pasta in it.

I also love pizza (spinach or green peppers, plz), smoked Polish sausage, Chinese food, creamy soups and CHOCOLAAAATE. (Hershey's and Lindt only, though. Everything else tastes funny to me.)
