Damn it, Square-Enix, you're slowly starting to piss me off. Why the hell are you making Final Fantasy XIII-2?

First it was Final Fantasy XIII Versus or whatever it's called, which has another boring angsty male protagonist (who looks like the lovechild of Squall and Cloud) who hangs out with a bunch of boring dudes that were specifically designed for yaoi fanfiction, and one chick named Stella who looks like the only worthwhile character in the whole game.

Then it was Final Fantasy XIV -- online. Another RPG. Woo.

Then you're making another Dissidia game, in which a crude gesture is made towards Tifa's cleavage, because the only valuable thing about Tifa is her boobs apparently.

And now you're making a sequel to XIII?

You know what I want? I want Final Fantasy VII remade for the PS3. That's what fans have been asking you to do for years. Way to completely disregard what we actually want. But at this point, I'm not sure I want you to be held responsible for that, considering you don't even know what the fuck you're doing with your characters anymore.

Ever since the Enix merger, you suck so much, Square-Enix.

And out of all those, it's actually an FFVII remake I want the least. In fact I never want it to happen because if the japanese fandom is anything like the western fandom (SE will pander to the japanese fandom more than the west) people don't want an actual remake, they just want a shiny coat of current gen graphics slapped onto it.

While we're at it, fans shouldn't want an FF6 remake either, JUST NO REMAKES. WE DON'T NEEEEED THEM

... sorry, FF7 remake is one of my hotbuttons, actually remakes in general raises my hackles I guess haha

Don't worry, I understand what you mean. I'm not too familiar with the Japanese fandom, but I know a lot of fans who'd just love it if it looks pretty rather than being an actual fun or satisfying game to play. :\

Personally I'd love to get a VII remake if it means they're going to leave the story and the characters alone (and I'll admit that I'd like to see everything in lovely graphics, and FFVII deserves the treatment more than the other games), but I doubt that'd happen because it seems like Square-Enix doesn't even recognize who these characters are and why people love them. (Aerith in Crisis Core and Kingdom Hearts games is nothing like the actual Aerith, for instance.)

If more FF remakes are going to happen I'd rather see it happen to an older game since FF7 has already gotten enough attention but frankly, it's kind of sad that they have to bait the fandom and prey on people's nostalgia. Just move on Square-Enix.

That's true!

Square-Enix really does need to move on. If you can't come up with anymore ideas for a Final Fantasy game in the franchise...then stop adding onto the franchise. Honestly with the failure of Final Fantasy XIV, Square-Enix is in enough trouble. Making another XIII game is just asking for it. :\
