You ever have one of those nights where you can't sleep, it's five in the morning, you have the odd inspiration to write something except it's all stupid fanfiction? Then you discover that you're not comfortable writing fanfiction so instead you try to focus on original characters that aren't giving you the inspiration you need?

So you're just sitting on your bed in front of your notebook or computer and staring awkwardly at it and waiting for a dumb idea to come out of nowhere. It never comes. You should be going to sleep but, again, you're not tired and you're bored and you've lost control over your life.

This happens to me a lot lately. I hate these nights. Maybe I should read a book.

You should write the stupid fanfiction. Any and all writing is still good, I think and it's possible it might help you get into your own characters again.

But yeah, I know the feeling. Except with art mostly. Where I should be drawing original characters/school art stuff, but I just want to draw Helga and Arnold making out or whatever.

I probably should just to get it out of my system. I always try to write fanfiction, but it always falls flat because I don't have faith in myself to get the characters right.

I always approve of Helga and Arnold making out! You know, as though you needed another bad influence encouraging you. XD With me it's always schmoopy romance about the same characters over and over again. Or wangst. It's always those two extremes, never in between.
