Straight Male Gamer told to get over it by Bioware.

Long story short: Straight Male Gamer complains about the bisexual options in Dragon Age 2. Bioware responds with this:

The romances in the game are not for “the straight male gamer”. They’re for everyone. We have a lot of fans, many of whom are neither straight nor male, and they deserve no less attention.

[...] The very best we can do is give everyone a little bit of choice, and that’s what we tried here. And the person who says that the only way to please them is to restrict options for others is, if you ask me, the one who deserves it least. And that’s my opinion, expressed as politely as possible.

Oh, Bioware. I knew there was a reason why I loved playing your games so much, and you just gave me another reason to adore you guys.

Go Bioware! I knew they were awesome, but they earned more awesome points right there.

It's amazing because they easily could've catered to the Straight Male Gamer demographic, but they care about their fanbase too much to do that. Now I have a lot of respect for Bioware.

Take that, jackass!

Well, now I HAVE to play Dragon Age, don't I? If the developers are THAT AWESOME! Now that I've finished Deadly Premonition, I need a new game, anyway.

You could probably get Dragon Age: Origins for dirt cheap now that the sequel is out! Actually, there's an ultimate edition with both Origins and its technical sequel Awakening for...a ridiculously cheap price. Considering Awakening through the Playstation network costs $40 and you can probably grab the ultimate edition package for less than that, it's worth the investment if there are still copies for the PS3 available online. If not, you can just jump straight into Origins. (Although my BFF Sev has repeatedly told me she regrets not buying the version for the PC, since there's mods available for the game, but I'm not too familiar with how the mods actually work so it boils down to personal preference. Personally I prefer playing the game on PS3, since I don't have a good enough PC to play the game. IDK about Xbox 360 so.)

Overall, it's a great game, and I do hope you pick it up. It deserves the love. What really won me over were the characters. The sequel is pretty good, too. I haven't looked into how the rest of the fandom feels about it (I try to avoid it, anyway, since it's...weird), but I thought the sequel was worth the money.
