This looks like fun~

Give me a character I play and I will give you a few facts about them according to my own personal canon. This can range from their birthday, favorite color or even their earliest memory up to what they had last night for dinner.

I'm not role playing right now - I want to, but I'm shy about approaching new games - but you can ask about any fandom characters I've played in the past, or original characters. Here's a general list of them.

Wow, someone actually uses Lightning! Do you know how few people in the fandom actually seem to think of him?

So, yeah, I'm going to say Lightning.

I do, and it's discouraging! A lot of people don't like him or his brother Thunder, but they have the coolest powers in the show. And I've had a special love for Lightning since I found out who his voice actor is.

Hmmm ... let's see if I can name a few random facts off the top of my head: for my Lightning, I don't see Lightning as literally the element of lightning, as the show worked with because I think that's silly. I followed his comic canon much more closely, and changed his tolerance of water (he can handle a drizzle and the rain, but otherwise he short-circuits). His favorite food are noodles, anything sweet, and he loves pizza; he abhors the taste of pickles. His birthday is in November, he's older than Thunder by a few minutes, he ruined his backyard during training sessions, his favorite animal is the panda bear and he has a puppy named Panda. The last thing he ate was probably a pie that wasn't meant for him but for his brother.

Another fun fact: my RPG Lightning has a girlfriend named Ophelia who controls water and ice. This fanartist also gave him a girlfriend named Ophelia (http://kelmar2593.deviantart.com/art/Ophelia-and-Lightning-81507417). Both the girls have dark skin just like that. spookytoast and I were completely unaware of the other Ophelia until we randomly looked around deviantART and freaked ourselves out. XD;

It's odd how different people can come up with the same or slightly same idea without knowing it.

And heh, looks like I'm not the only one to imagine a girlfriend for Lightning (thats with AIM rp's with another friend though. With the same person we also have a sister character for the two named "Hailstorm." But yeah, this is personal RP world.)

It is! And hah, I love that Lightning has so many girlfriends in the world of fandom. Maybe it's his naivety that they find adorable. What was his girlfriend like in your RP?

The idea of them having a little sister is adorable! I can see Thunder and Lightning handling their sister in different ways. While Thunder would be overprotective and constantly worry about where she's off to, Lightning is the mischievous older brother who picks on her but then makes up with her long enough to team up with her and pull pranks on Thunder. Otherwise, I think he'd underestimate her a lot until she rains hail on his head.

Oh, definitely. Lightning ruined the backyard while teaching his friend/stalker Duela (it's a long story in itself there xD;) how to fight. Thunder yelled at him and kicked them both out to go fight in the forest instead.

What's Saki (the character) like, huh? Well, she's one of those somewhat shy and sweet types (though that doesn't stop her from fighting evil.). She's actually a faye (the more folklore version of fairy) but was brought to the mortal realm and disguised as human due family problems. Saki isn't her true name, it was the name her adoptive father gave her.

I think the whole relationship was started during one scene where Saki had to go into Lightning's mind (one of her powers, to go into another persons psyche) after he was in a catatonic state after Saki's father trapped him in the ground for a bit (I see Lightning NOT liking being trapped under the earth.). That was an interesting scene.

And yeah, that's pretty well Hailstorm's relations with her brothers. She's also prone to forming small hailstones and flicking them at her brothers heads when their not looking:)

That does sound interesting. And Saki sounds like a cool character; I never heard of an OC with that backstory before. Ophelia was more of an optimistic and bubbly type of girl from Hawaii, who frequently got on Lightning's nerves but he ended up finding it endearing.

Lightning would totally hate earth or anything concerning earth. He doesn't like abusing it (not now, fully aware that he's destroying stuff rather than doing any good), but the element earth is the one thing he cannot fight his way out of so he just dislikes it based on his lack of control over it. Like, he'd lose against Terra anytime, any day in a fight if it's just the two of them.

Haha! She definitely learned the art of annoyance from her brothers.

Thanks:) I was trying to figure out an interesting background for her, and I was on a bit of an folklore/supernatural kick (which explains also why there's a Thunderbird and a deer person (not exactly a satyr, just a person with deer like qualities and can transform into a full dear) in the rp.) so that kind of became a part of her background.

Yeah, considering Lightning couldn't fight his way through earth, one can figure he freak being trapped in the earth. Yeah, Terra would beat him in an one on one fight. I should so write out that scene where Saki goes into his psyche to get him out of the catatonic state.

Another interesting character with some sort of relation to Lightning is Thunderbird. He is actually a Thunderbird that transforms into a human form at times.. The last one, so he took on the name of his species. He and Lightning hate each other. Not just because Thunderbird is on the bad guy side but he hits on Saki, and constantly boasts he's the stronger of the control of the element.

He also tends to call Lightning, Sparky.

Yes, she learned that much from her brothers. Just some things you pick up from them:)

Folklore is really interesting, and it's difficult to pull it off well for original characters. The deer bit sounds fun.

I'd like to read the scene! It's good to see how other people handle minor characters and OCs mingling together, and her ability seems like it'd be fun to write.

Thunderbird, eh? Man, now I have to wonder who was stronger, him or Lightning. I'm getting the mental image that they were both equal in power, so they ended up butting heads a lot and never actually getting anywhere. Or Lightning would lose when it comes to strategy.

LOL. Sparky. I ... think Lightning was called once back in the RP times, but I can't remember now. I'd have to go back and look; I'm almost sure it was Ophelia that called him that. I know she called him Flashy Pants. ;) It gladly became an inside joke.

And yeah, Thunderbird and Lightning are on the same electrical power level. While Thunderbird isn't exactly world's smartest, he can be a sneak once in awhile.

For some reason this inspired an sort of AU world RP for me. Sort of the whole "Government starts collecting super powered hero's for scientific purposes/weapons" thing.

No idea why that came to mind.

Random ideas are the best ideas you can get! I've always liked worlds like that, where the abilities are more of a hindrance/burden than something to go about freely with. It brings a lot of suspense in the air and brings a lot of opportunities for characters to team up to save themselves.

I thought adding in some of the events of what happened would make it easier to understand anyways.

I saw pictures of their original comic selves, but I never read the comics. I like comics, but I don't read much unless their in collected form as I don't know where to start. But I do read up on characters and such. Sometimes I'll even get the comic book verse jokes and such on comic book shows/movies. I was yelling "red hood is joker! red hood is joker!" while watching last weeks episode of "batman: brave and the bold."

I don't read a lot of comics, either. Like, I have to be one of the only one on the Internet who doesn't get the Watchmen craze and doesn't want to read the graphic novels. >_>; I did read a lot of the Teen Titans, though, especially the ones about Terra's original appearance (I have two graphic novels about her stories), and the comic with Thunder and Lightning had to be one of my favorites.

Same here! I'll see it if I get a chance out of curiosity, because it does look like it's going to be a good comic book movie, but I have no idea who the characters are supposed to be and I'd probably be extremely confused while reading it. That sort of kills the enthusiasm for me. :/

Yeah, poor Ziera doesn't get enough attention when Yal is around because Yal is just that demanding for attention, unconsciously of course. Yal is the opposite of Ziera where he likes to mingle and gossip. Ziera is ... quiet. Like, he's not shy, but he's more of a silent observer, because his observation skills always got him ahead in his career and his judgment of people.

More about Ziera, hrmm... his parents had him and his brother Daniel (who is a good two years younger than Ziera) later in life, when they were in their late 30s; before then, they were enjoying the wealth and working towards the family business. Ziera was a big time nerd an honors student since he was in middle school; he's got a bit of a photographic memory, where he can look at a page once and remember its content for the rest of his life. He didn't want to inherit his father's business--and I still don't know what he wanted to do before then--but his younger brother Daniel rebelled and got into the arts so Ziera felt he was the family's last hope after their father passed away. He didn't officially inherit the business until soon after Niaka's death when he moved with Zei closer to the city.

He likes his red meat and potatoes (though Yal is strict with diets now), he doesn't have a specific favorite color, he is Democrat based on principal since he's gay, he donates money to charities whenever he can (specifically charities for cancer, since Niaka died from breast cancer), he plays an occasional game of golf (he played it during high school - and won a medal, believe it or not!), and he's got just as bad of a temper as Yal does--he tends to bottle it up and explode whereas Yal will immediately let you know when he's angry.

Ziera loves his son Zei and encourages his creativity--he was the one that got Zei into piano classes when he was a kid--but he's incredibly frustrated at his lack of motivation. While Yal has a FORCED affectionate relationship with San, Ziera isn't so affectionate but he's usually the one San goes to when he really needs to talk to somebody since they have a lot in common. He's more of a homebody, too ... which can be both a good thing and a bad thing when you're in a relationship with someone like Yal who LOVES getting out whenever he can. But they manage; they have specific weekends where Ziera picks what they do, and Yal picks what they do. :P Ziera needs loosening up and Yal needs somebody to be lazy with once in awhile.

Oh, and when he was a kid, he had a hamster named Ziggy. He loved that hamster. Ziggy mysteriously vanished when he went to school one day. His parents told him Ziggy went to Disneyland or the circus. Ziera hasn't owned a pet since DUE TO TRUST ISSUES. :(
