Date: 2010-03-04 11:17 pm (UTC)2. What I think their challenge is: Well, you have to consider the fact that Zidane is a notorious womanizer--or he fancies himself as one--and there's a huge chance that he doesn't have a long lifespan. Then there's Dagger. Technically she isn't royalty, but she's still a queen and obviously that caused a couple of problems between them in canon.
3. What makes me happy about them: They impacted each other's lives. Zidane's behavior towards women changed after he met her, and she and his friends give him a reason to keep going with his life in his darkest hour. Dagger also changed for the better; she learned to stand up for herself, and recognize her flaws and realize she has to improve herself.
4. What makes me sad about them: Nothing, really.
5. What moment I wish had never happened: I don't think I have any.
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I've never thought about it! I'm not a huge non-canon shipper in Final Fantasy IX. The biggest non-canon ship I go with is Amarant/Freya (idk how to spell her name, I always forget), although I'll argue that there's enough canon to back them up. Uh, I can totally see Beatrix/Dagger, but I love Beatrix with Steiner so.
7. My happily ever after for them: IT ALREADY HAPPENED. Seriously, talk about the best Final Fantasy ending ever. (Final Fantasy VIII counts too, but I barely remember it. I still have to beat the game.)

Date: 2010-03-06 01:21 am (UTC)1. When I started shipping them: I wasn't really into them as a relationship until Mytho was corrupted by Rue and the Raven, and she genuinely started to regret her choices when she saw what it was doing to him. It wasn't until the very episode where she saves him with her confession of love that I kicked off into "OH MY GOD THEY BETTER GET TOGETHER AND LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER OR ELSE I WILL CRY."
2. What I think their challenge is: Rue loves him, but she didn't realize that a relationship needs to have the other partner loving her back for it to work. And throughout the entire series, Mytho had that tiny problem of...not having his heart, which caused Rue a lot of grief at times. (Not to mention it made it easier for her to manipulate him out of desperation.)
3. What makes me happy about them: She's made mistakes, but she still loves him and she wants him to be safe. She really did regret her mistakes, and she sacrificed her own well-being to atone for them and set him free. And I always got the feeling that he loved Princess Tutu more, but I think Mytho loved Rue too and he wanted to make her happy after the sacrifices he made for her.
4. What makes me sad about them: Most of their moments before the finale. 8(
5. What moment I wish had never happened: Rue, you can't get boys to love you by corrupting their hearts. (Yeah, I know it had to happen to drive the story forward, but...yeah, that was still pretty horrible on her part.)
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I can see either one with Ahiru! But she's busy living the rest of her life as a duck, so idk. D:
7. My happily ever after for them: It already happened! I think. Yeah, it did.

Date: 2010-03-05 04:26 am (UTC)1. When I started shipping them: From the very beginning! Actually, the moment Hachi got jealous of Nana hanging out with another girl.
2. What I think their challenge is: They both have tons of self-esteem issues. Nana's desperate to keep people with her, because of her mother's abandonment and how that directly affected her relationships with other people. She tends to be very clingy and react in an extreme manner when people seem to be leaving her behind. Oh and her relationship with Ren is very dysfunctional and unhealthy. Hachi is a while different problem. She's always falling in love because I don't think she's happy with herself? She feels stuck and helpless, so her way of getting out is finding a man and settling down with a picture-perfect marriage, and it may not be exactly what she wants and she doesn't realize that yet. And both of them are selfish; Nana wants people to stay with her no matter what that means for them, and Hachi's been flakey when it comes to Nana because Takumi's automatically more important since they're engaged. IT ENRAGES ME.
3. What makes me happy about them: They just get each other, even if they're drastically different from one another. And it's obvious that they have such mad crushes on each other. And Nana's always willing to beat up Hachi's dumb boyfriends if she has to.
4. What makes me sad about them: Even if the artist ever did pick their story back up, it doesn't seem likely that they'd ever be in a romantic relationship. :(
5. What moment I wish had never happened: Hachi moving out and living with Takumi just because she got pregnant. Actually, her relationship with Takumi overall SHOULD'VE NEVER HAPPENED, because there's no emotional connection between them whatsoever.
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Hachi with Nobu, after he's done being a passive aggressive idiot, and Nana with Yasu.
7. My happily ever after for them: They find each other. That's it. They find each other, realize that there's nobody better than the other, and they go back to Tokyo, to their little apartment and live happily and comfortably with each other. THAT IS ALL I NEED.

Date: 2010-03-06 07:22 pm (UTC)1. When I started shipping them: A little bit before their first kiss. I started getting the hint that it was going to happen sooner or later. Or if that if it wasn't going to happen, it ought to happen.
2. What I think their challenge is: It's a casual routine for Sam to find a reason to hurt Freddie. Which is funny and all, but it's not going to help if they ever got together. And Freddie won't let go of his crush on Carly and realize there's probably other girls who'd like to go out with him.
3. What makes me happy about them: Their slap-slap-kiss dynamic! I love ships that involve this trope.
4. What makes me sad about them: IDK. I keep getting this suspicion that the endgame canon is going to be Freddie/Carly. I'm like, 75% sure it's going to be Freddie/Sam or there isn't going to be an endgame canon (which I prefer, I'll admit), but it seems like Dan's aiming for Freddie/Carly to develop into something lasting. I kind of hope that isn't the case, because the characters just don't go well together and it seems to be really weak. (And I'm not usually a fan of WE'RE JUST BEST FRIENDS EXCEPT NOT REALLY ships, because it always feels forced.)
5. What moment I wish had never happened: Sam dragging Freddie into the back of ...one of the one-shot character's tree house, and beating the shit out of him with a tennis racket. Actually, any moment where Sam beats up Freddie for no reason other than for pure enjoyment just needs to stop. I think that stops me from completely loving them.
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: IDK about Freddie, but Sam/Carly have been making eyes at each other since the show began.
7. My happily ever after for them: uhhh Freddie/Carly doesn't happen and either things are left up in the air or Freddie/Sam happens. I don't have a set happy ending for them.
